I did this cake for a staff meeting at one of the Opus Art supplies stores. It fed roughly 14 people with some to spare. The cake itself is made up of two bottom layers of a rich dense dark chocolate butter cake, and the top two layers are a lighter devils food. In between the layers of cake is an Italian merengue buttercream.
The covering and bottom fold is all made from a marshmallow fondant and the top nozel of the design is gumpaste.
